In 2000 Chuck Maiwurm bought Contour Laminate, a Seattle-based laminate firm dating back to 1957. The 12-year veteran of Weyerhaeuser left the Federal Way-based timber firm to supply bold and aggressive new leadership of an old firm. Contour Countertops now provides all the laminate and stone countertops for local Quadrant Homes as well as all the laminate tops for all Washington Home Depots and all the granite, natural quartz and laminate tops for the region's Lowes Home Improvement Centers.
