We are often asked how a chimney is cleaned. We have a variety of brushes and other tools that we use. We try to clean all fireplaces from the roof, which not only provides the best access to thoroughly clean the entire chimney, but also gives us a proper view of your chimney so we can determine if there are any issues that may need attention or repair.

Chimney caps are used to prevent rain, snow, leaves and animals from entering the chimney. Caps also prevent sparks from leaving the chimney. We typically use a stainless steel mesh cap with a rain hood. There are endless options when choosing a chimney cap. We have standard stainless steel caps stocked in our vehicles.

Chimney Liners

Not only does a good chimney liner make your fireplace more safe, but it also makes it more economical. Masonry fireplaces -built entirely of bricks, stone or blocks and mortar, with or without a tile-lined flue. There are also a hybrid chimneys that most commonly have a metal firebox and a smoke chamber coupled to a regular brick chimney.

Masonry is often perceived as very durable and sometimes believed to be indestructible. It is NOT! The chimney sticks up at the top of the roof, above all other parts of the home. It is exposed to harsh elements such as snow and rain that freeze and thaw, causing deterioration. A quality chimney cover (chase top) and a waterproofing treatment can avoid expensive repairs.
