A Timberpeg timber frame home is designed to fit your style. View our library of photo galleries and take a virtual tour of many of our homes too. We also have done many non-residential buildings including offices, barns, restaurants, wineries, religious structures and lots more. Timberpeg has designed thousands of homes nationwide. Our homes are based on a modular system of design that makes them infinitely adaptable in style, layout and size. Most of our home plans are entirely custom but many began with a post and beam home plan found here and were modified to meet varying needs.

Dating back over 50 years, the extraordinary Timberpeg designs you see on this website come from humble beginnings. Our company's founder, Jesse Ware, had a vision to build homes that blended harmoniously with the countryside and began fulfilling this vision by handcrafting his own log home out of a stand of white pine trees in Hartland, Vermont in 1963.

We've been designing homes since 1974 resulting in thousands of timber frame homes and plans. Not only can our team help you design a new home, but they can also help you design a timber frame home addition, a custom workshop or garage, a pool house, whatever timber frame structure you desire, we're there to work with you and make it happen.
The best way to experience a Timberpeg timber frame home is to visit one first hand. We realize that this is not as simple as it sounds. We have lots of post and beam and timber frame homes built across the country and even globally, but the logistics for visiting one in person do not always work out.

We built our home in 1992 and we constantly get oohs and ahh as people enter or approach the house. The interior is warm and incredibly interesting due to all the post and beam joinery and wood grains. The staff at Timberpeg helped with initial design and planning, and, amazingly, were still available today ( 25 years later) to offer technical advice on construction changes.

Recently purchased a Timberpeg home constructed in 1994 from the original owner. It is a traditional looking cape cod on the outside but when you walk in the front door you enter a world of exposed posts and beams, wooden ceilings, floors and walls. What we love is the very traditional look on the outside and the warm "log home feel" on the inside. Additionally, twenty-three years into it's life it is holding up very well.

I have tried contacting them 3 times over the last year. I finally got a builder to call me and he promised me more material and pricing but never heard from him again. The latest contact form I filled out also resulted in no response but they did add me to their mailing list. My wife tried calling them to ask for some info on an existing house but they never followed up.

We have already moved on to another builder and are so glad we did. I cannot imagine what they would be like if we did go forward with using Timberpeg for our new home. Communications is just horrible. Too bad I cannot leave zero stars. There really should be a way to do that.
