KC Water Heater can provide you with all of the latest information on energy efficient water heaters. The new energy laws will require the energy factor to be at least .62 starting in 2015 on all tanks under 55 gallons. Tanks that are over 55 gallons will require an even higher energy factor. Chase is a true professional that wants to do what is right, not just what will make him the most money.

We made an appointment for him to look over my 20 year old water heater and probably have him replace it. He called before he came by to verify it was still a good time to come over. He showed up when he said he would, and was very polite and professional. He was very careful to take care of our house and floors. His installation took several hours, but it was the time frame we discussed earlier. Chase took the time to explain why he was doing what he was and answered every question that I asked, (I asked a lot of questions!). He was very candid with some of the options that he gave me, an didn't pressure me in any way to add more complexity than was needed. Chase allowed me to watch the entire installation and didn't seem bothered that I wanted to be a part of it.(I had installed the last water heater 20 years earlier).

As the owner of his company, he is aware that every detail of the installation is a reflection of him and his quality.
The brand we bought: Bradford White, are mainly sold through professional plumbers and have a higher quality than most of the Big-Box store units. The total price wasn't that much more than me buying a top of the line BigBox Store water heater, and installing it myself. By Chase doing the installation, I didn't have to make several trips back to the store to get small parts that I may have forgotten, and he took the old one with him!

I have no hesitation recommending KC Water Heaters to anyone who needs to have a water heater replaced.

I talked to Chase on the phone for 5 minutes and I knew that I had found someone who was a Pro at installing water heaters. Safety is paramount when installing and operating a gas fired water heater, mainly due to possible exposure to Carbon Monoxide. Chase replaced my 18 year old water heater with the best water heater for my house/situation. He evaluated all the piping and surrounding components including the most critical piece, a pressure regulator on the water line which had to be replaced. Five stars are not enough to rate Chase's knowledge and expertise. He is the best in the business, bar none!!

Hot water heater died this morning and saw all the great reviews for this company. Called them up and the owner, Chase, was here in 2 hours to install a new water heater and even fixed some things that were done incorrectly from the previous owner/servicemen. Chase was VERY knowledgeable and showed me everything I needed to know about my new water heater. He was also the nicest serviceman I have ever dealt with. He will always have my business ,as well, I will be referring anyone to him and his company, no doubt!

The most important thing to consider when replacing your water heater in Kansas City is to determine the need for a Pressure Regulating Valve and Thermal Expansion tank. The picture below shows both the PRV and expansion tank just to the left of the water heater. These two devices work together to help protect your entire plumbing system. It's also common to replace a section or all of the venting. Most homes do not have the right vent sizing for a 40,000 btu water heater. It's also common to see a single wall wye instead of double wall and 30ga vent pipe being used instead of 26ga.

KC Water Heaters is a Google Guaranteed company, meaning we have been through a thorough screening process and background check. Owner Chase Thompson is a licensed Master Plumber with a Gas Certificate. All of the work is completed by the owner Chase. With well over 1300 installations completed you can be confident the job is being completed by one of KC's most experienced installers. We have quite a few specialized tools as well as the best equipped water heater truck in Kansas City. We stock vent materials, multiple water heaters, repair parts, and mechanical dolly that makes it all work.

Homes in Prairie Village typically need venting upgrades. If you have a water heater that vents into an unlined Masonry Chimney, it will need to be lined before a new atmospheric tank can be installed. In some cases a Power Vent water heater is installed which does not vent into the chimney, rather out the side of the house with PVC venting. This type of water heater is twice the cost and requires an electrical outlet nearby. Tank life: The number below is the current average age of a water heater being replaced in Prairie Village, KS.

Expansion Tanks:Thermal Expansion tanks are required on all closed loop systems in Olathe. A closed loop system is created when there is a check valve in the water supply line. Usually this will be in the form of a PRV, water softner, or backflow device. If a backflow device is installed for an irrigation system it doesn't necessarily make it a closed loop system. Water Pressure:The number below is the average water pressure provided by the city which has to be measured before the PRV.

When having a new water heater installed you should ask for rigid copper supply lines. No flexible copper or braided steel if you can help it. Also try to avoid using shark bite quick connect fittings. These types of fittings are especially prone to leaking around water heaters particularly on the hot water discharge line. Most areas will require a thermal expansion tank to be installed or replaced when replacing the water heater. The thermal expansion tank has to be calibrated to work in conjunction with your Pressure Reducing Valve.

Water Pressure:The number below is the average water pressure provided by the city which has to be measured before the PRV. One important think to consider when replacing a water heater in Mission, KS is the flue liner. This is due to the age of the houses throughout the area. What was acceptable 50 years ago is no longer considered as a safe way to vent a water heater. An alternative to installing a flue liner would be a power vent or electric water heater.
