Extremely pushy sales tactics and won't take no for an answer, to the point they will LITERALLY not leave. They stopped by my house "because they were in the neighborhood" and would not leave my wife alone even after she kept saying she is not interested in any projects and they kept pointing out things wrong with our house or needed to be fixed or improvements. Doesn't look like they are rated by the BBB and can say I'm not surprised.

Satisfied customer! We have newly purchased older home that needed new windows, gutters and portico over our front door entry way. GAE provided a quote in September of 2021 - due to (understandably & unavoidable) C19 and weather delays. our work was completed by early May - without any material or labor increases. Great craftsmanship on the portico, swift & quick window installers and gutters went up as planned.all had to be timed with the portico build. Job well done! We are very pleased with the outcome & will continue to reach out to GAE if needed in the future.

Critical: Punctuality They do great work but they take forever. We were suppose to have the windows put in last September took them till December to get the windows and install them. They put the wrong glass in and now I keep hearing in 2 weeks the glass will be ready that was over a month ago. They just keep blaming the manufacturer and shortages. Service: Window installation

I was referred to Great American Exteriors by The Home Improvement Network. I was contacted by Great American Exteriors and tried to schedule appt after speaking with 3 diffrent people all i heard was excuses on how they couldnt come out for the appt because of the distance and potential time wasted. why call me if you dont want to come out for an evaluation?

One of our windows, purchased from Great American Exteriors, approximately 15+ years ago, broke (it wouldn't go up and stay up). It took Great American Exteriors almost a year to find part for older window. But they never gave up. They also kept me informed on progress. They finally found part and installed it. All their work with no charge to me at all (note- windows were purchased from previous owners of their company) I would highly recommend them

Critical: Professionalism, Punctuality great american exteriors refused to make an appointment because wife was unavailable to be there. my spouse works long hours and i am the one making the decisions in regards to remodeling but all i was told is they prefer 2 deciscion makers to be available. We had our concrete done about a year and a half ago, and we couldn't be more displeased. The workmanship is very shoddy with stains at the bottom of the driveway and many stone chips and crumbling. After inspection, Great American indicated it might be bad concrete. They have never responded to our calls about what they might do to resolve the situation. I would not recommend them for any concrete work. Professionalism and customer service are non-existent. Scott Albers

We hired Gramex to pick up the pieces after another contractor dropped the ball on our project. They did beautiful work that we were told was impossible. They were so professional that we hired them for another job.

We had a great experience working with Great American Exteriors. They were professional, prompt on their response, and did a wonderful job putting in new windows on the front of our house. We love how the new windows look--it really improves the overall look of the house! Our neighbor even liked how they looked and asked about our experience, mentioning they were thinking of replacing windows too. We recommended Great American Exteriors right away (and we will continue to do so from here)!

I was looking to get work done on my front deck and was given the runaround from several companies. Was recommended to give Great American Exteriors a call. I received a call back and free estimate within 48 hours. Justin helped me get a great price and the work was done fast and everyone involved were very professional. Would definitely recommend.

They took out my old front porch with steps and a landing and re leveled, framed put new rebar, and poured everything new with their solid concrete system. From the start to finish the process was relatively easy and communication was great. The crew that showed up was very efficient and professional as well. It's really hard to find people who communicate and perform a job with no hiccups in today's economy, but I found my new go-to guys for future projects. Thank you for a great guys!

We love our new doors! Justin was easy to work with and the installation team went the extra mile to get it done in one long day. They also got our new door bell working and installed a new mailbox.

I have asked multiple times to be removed from the call list and am still getting calls. The last one, this afternoon, featured a screaming match going on in the background between a manager and one of their canvassers.

We have been doing business with Great American since we owned our first home in Elmhurst back in the early 90s. After moving to Glen Ellyn 20 years ago, Great American Exteriors is still our go-to company for exterior projects. They recently replaced our entryway and storm door and completed a porcelain tile installation over our front stoop. We could not be happier with the finished results!

The Gramex staff are great as well. Their salesman John is a pleasure to talk to and a great help in deciding what we really wanted. Everyone we have dealt with at Great American Exteriors - John, Jason, Sam - has been wonderful.

Multiple projects- excellent results! Since March 2020 thru July 2020 we have had Great American Exteriors work on 3 separate projects for us in our home. We needed our garage door fixed and within 1 week of the incident they quoted, got a crew out and it was fixed in less than 1 day (other companies we looked at quoted multiple days, long lead time and twice the cost).

The work was excellent - Tony event came back later to adjust the color of the caulk to match the siding perfectly! Fantastic! 2nd project was a remodel of our back stairs (Before and After pictures provided). We are THRILLED at the results! Tony and his son are the best in the business. Fantastic to work with, answered all our questions and even fixed a leak in our vent pipe (3rd project) when we realized there was a problem. We highly recommend Gramex and are looking forward to doing our front porch in the coming years with them!

After another few months and more issues, I'm lowering my review to 1 star. After seeing my review, Gramex sent someone to repair the wind damage to my mudroom door - he stuck a big nail through the giant tear in the door frame. So now the door works again but is ugly as hell. When my sliding door was installed, the workers realized that the door they were placing was larger than the one being removed.

No idea how that happened? Whoever measured must have done it wrong, I guess. The installers' fix was to enlarge the doorway to fit the new door. They ended up cutting some unknown wires that I'm afraid were from my brand new radiant heat system. There are definitely cold areas that weren't there before. But that's not even the worst of it. I'm getting ready to sell my house now, and looking around for spots to repair.

I noticed a new crack that runs from the doorway up to the bottom of a window on the second floor. I asked GRAMEX to come out to replace my screen that was damaged by wind & pets and when they sent someone, he took pics of the crack and took them to management. When he brought the screen back (as per this company's norm, he showed up without warning because nobody called to schedule a date or time), he confirmed my fears about the crack - they agreed that it was probably caused by installing a too-large door.

I asked if they were going to, ya know, fix it. The installer said he'd ask his boss. I still haven't heard back, so I'm guessing I'm SOL. And ANOTHER concern - the guy had huge amounts of trouble getting the screen door out and back in - I'm guessing because it was installed upside down, which you can see by the upside down info stickers.

We had Great American Exteriors replace our front door and stoop. We had a great experience from start to finish and love how everything turned out. Everyone was very professional throughout the process and we look forward to using them in the future for other projects.

I recently had Great American Exteriors out to perform some concrete work. I had originally wanted a deck but after talking with Justin, we decided that a concrete patio made more sense. Justin was extremely helpful throughout the process and I have already recommended him to a few friends. The concrete work was done quickly and efficiently with little mess.

All of the guys were hardworking and professional. I also had the pleasure of working with James and Jason, who made the entire process smooth from start to finish. The work turned out great and on budget! I'm so happy with my new entertaining space and it was made possible by the team at Great American Exteriors. We highly recommend Great American Exteriors. We had a small gutter replacement job that needed to be done. We told them it was small but they said they do any size job. When they came out for an estimate we decided to have our window trim replaced also. They rushed the job for us since we were having problems with water in the basement. Installer for both the gutters and trim were highly professional. They did a wonderful job and cleaned up after themselves. We will definitely used them again.

Great American Exteriors did an amazing job of replacing a large window in my house. A few other companies said that it could not be done and others tried to up-sell me on replacing all of my windows which was not necessary. GRAMEX was honest and got the job done in a timely fashion.

I was provided a quote by the sales rep based on correct measurements of my driveway. The day they show up to do the work, they claim the quote was provided on wrong measurements and tried to increase the job by $3000. An honest mistake they claim which is total crap because I know the sales rep had a drawing with the right measurements and that's what the quote was provided on.

However when he wrote the work order he wrote the wrong number. He knows he made a mistake and then tried to negotiate the increase. I sent the guy who shows up uninvited to convince me to co tiniest with the job and his crew away. I already found another contractor. I don't fall for "honest mistakes" when it would have cost me additional money.

I used the online form to request a quote for some repairs. They refused to even set up an appointment for an estimate without both homeowners present. This is suspicious to me and I will not be working with them.

I just had a patio put in and GRAMEX did it professionally and quickly. They gave me a great price and even added things that weren't in the contract. I highly recommend these guys and will certainly use them for future projects.

Very happy with the work done by Great American Exteriors. This is the 2nd time we have used them. The installers are on time, do excellent work and you can't tell they were there after they left. Nothing for me to clean up. Really it all starts with Justin the sales mgr that came to my house 1st. However it didn't take a great sales job, with the quality of the product. I have enjoyed the quality and Workmanship so much, I recommended them to my mother in-law. They are now installing windows and sliding glass door for her.

They did not meet their contractual obligation. Over a 2 hour in-person sales meeting we agreed upon the lowest level of work to be performed and a price. I signed their contract and put down a deposit. After a 4+ month wait, I received a call from the owner demanding more money for the job. Specifically, 54% more than the agreed upon contractual price. I told the owner, we have a contract. He proceeded to insult and harass me and somehow deflected this onto me instead of taking ownership and doing the job.

We hired GRAMEX to install a dormer on our Elmhurst house and it turned out Great! We worked with GRAMEX owner, Sam, to decide what we wanted and he was very responsive to get his talented team started on the work. We always had an open line of communication with him and his team and they responded quickly to any question that came up during the few week long construction. We would hire them again for any other exterior house work!

If you have repair work for windows or doors under warranty, try to avoid scheduling appointments with Rob. In our experience he has a tendency to call within an hour of the appointment, cancel, and then try to reschedule. We let him do it to us twice, after which we decided not to do business with someone who does not respect his customer's time. Hope you have better luck than we did. Bye bye, Rob.

Great American Exteriors did a phenomenal job putting up Hardie Board, facia, and new gutters on my Elmhurst home. They were extremely attentive and got our job done weeks ahead of schedule. I was very impressed with their customer service. Justin was our salesman and he was fantastic but the owner also took the time to check in with both my husband and me throughout the process. Can't say enough great things about the team at Great American Exteriors!
