Allison can often be found at home, eating tacos, and binge watching shows on Hulu with her four dogs: Mickey, Louie, Mei Mei, and Cosmo. When she is hitting the town she enjoys going to the movies and trying new restaurants in her 2011 Chevy Cruze affectionately named, "Tommy Cruze." Jenna grew up in Ohio and received her degree in Speech Therapy.
Duncklee, Inc services all makes and models of heating and cooling equipment. Service calls are billed at a time and materials basis with a one hour minimum charge. After hours emergency service is available for established customers only and billed at time and one half with a two hour minimum charge.
Duncklee Cooling and Heating was originally known as L.H. Duncklee Refrigeration, Inc. Under the leadership and vision of the late founder Les Duncklee, the company was located on the corner of Route 1 and Masons Island Road in Mystic for more than 20 years. Les learned refrigeration in the United States Navy, and with great courage, enthusiasm and perseverance, he took the risk of starting a business while raising his young family in the 1970's.
At Duncklee, Inc. we offer a variety of payment options and will be happy to discuss which ones will work best for you. We accept cash, check, Mastercard, Visa, and Discover upon completion of service. We also have excellent financing plans available. If you would like to open an account with us, we will invoice you for services performed and our terms are NET 30.

We had Jon Duncklee over for a consultation for our future heating and cooling system as we switch away from oil. He gave us several options, and explained the pros and cons of each in a way that was very easy to understand. The company has been around for a long time and has a great reputation, and I can easily understand why. Service: Heating system installation

Beware of this company! I had the misfortune of giving DUNCKLEE HVAC a try, big mistake. I've been working with contractors for years never experienced such poor customer service. I called to have this company give me a quote on a new heat pump and air handler. OWNER REFUSED TO COME OUT AND EVALUATE MY HOUSE SAID HE DID ONE ALL THE SAME. THE DAY HIS CREW CAME OUT THEY INSTALLED THE UNITS, TOLD ME THERE WAS A LEAK IN MY LINE SET, COULDN'T DO ANYMORE. THEY ASKED TO GET PAID, SAID THEIR JOB WAS DONE. THEY WERE MORE INTERESTED IN GETTING TO A SOFTBALL GAME.

I TRIED TO REACH THE OWNER, HE WOULD NEVER ANSWER THE PHONE. HE HAS HIS OFFICE STAFF SCREEN HIS CALLS AND REFUSED TO CALL ME BACK. ONCE THEY HAD MY MONEY THEY COULD CARE LESS. THIS COMPANY WANTS QUICK IN AND OUT JOBS THAT DONT REQUIRE AND THINKING. I SHOULD HAVE KNOWN BETTER WHEN SHETUCKET PLUMBING WARNED ME NOT TO USE THEM. IF YOUR THINKING OF USING THIS COMPANY THINK AGAIN! I am shocked he's still in business!

Duncklee Cooling & Heating did a quality and professional job on installing our Ductless heating and cooling system. Our sales representative, Paige Remmert was knowledgeable, professional, and friendly. She listened to our needs and coordinated the job. Paige organized the rebates through the town which other companies would not. I would highly recommend them.

This is a top notch company that takes care of their customers. They installed a new ac system in my home and it takes care of the cooling in the summer. Their service department is great also.

AC quit working. They sent an inexperienced tech out who had no idea what was wrong. Billed us for nothing. Eventually a second tech came and said system had serious issues. Asked him to quote repairs on existing system or cost to replace. Paid the second invoice and waited for quote. Never came. Called them about it again and they said they would get back to us. Never heard from them again. Called another local company who came out, gave us a great price and installed a new system. I would avoid this company if at all possible.

I'm turning an out-building into my dream shop, and Dunklee helped with the heating and cooling. They guided me through the process of choosing the right unit, and the installation by Jim & Oscar was done efficiently and quickly. It was a great pleasure to do business with them and I will definitely call them again for any future H/V/AC projects! Highly recommended.

Replaced our window air conditioning units with ductless system. These are great! Pricing was extremely competitive. Installation was smooth and professional. Before leaving, installers cleaned up and spent time to make sure we understood fully how to use. Units are quiet and temperature is more consistent than our window units were. Highly recommend the ductless heat & air conditioning units and strongly recommend Duncklee Cooling & Heating to install them.

The installation of the Mitsubishi mini splits for cooling and heating could not have been better. They are so quiet and efficient. Duncklee Cooling and Heating were very professional, helpful, and explained everything clearly. I liked the price too.

How disappointed I am in this local business. In the past 10 months I have had 3 different technicians out for the lack of continuity of my aircon in a small part of my house. First one in the fall of last year serviced the system and said at some point I may need a new motor. Having been away for the winter and no need of aircon I returned to put the system on 2 weeks ago in that area and it was not working.

A different technician arrived last Thursday and said it was the thermostat ( no mention of the motor) and went away, returned with a new one, installed it and the system worked.it lasted 48 hours and cost me $+700. Another technician came 2 days ago and said it was the motor and wanted to charge me a further $+300 and I still have no aircon. Having spoken with the owner, Jonathan, this morning in the hope of some understanding I was greeted with a total lack of compromise regarding 2 bills for $+1000 for now no aircon.

I was willing to order a new motor from the company and have them install it if he would accept some responsibility for not notifying the second technician of the motor issue. This is a company I have used in the past but will no longer be doing so. The one star I have given only because the technicians were pleasant. It is so disappointing to find that some form of compromise was not forthcoming from this owner who appeared to think he was totally in the right and the customer was totally in the wrong.

This was our first time using Dunkley and we couldn't be more disappointed. They were unable to troubleshoot the problem the first time went back the second time, charged even more labor. $500 later and it was only a dirty filter. Which they couldn't even provide.

I had them do a split mini (Mitsubishi), eight wall units and two outside units. Great product, service, and pricing. They also installed two pumps on my dehumidifiers in the basement, so no more emptying by hand! Could not be more pleased

I had Duncklee install a Mitsubishi mini split a/c and heating system at my house in Stonington Borough. The owner, Jonathan Duncklee, was great to work with. Very punctual and professional in manner and very knowledgeable of his products and what would be best for our situation. His crew was likewise very professional and they installed the system in a short time and were meticulous about their work and clean up. No problems whatsoever and the system is working perfectly. I cannot recommend this company more highly.

BEWARE THEIR SERVICE BILLING POLICY. At the time you request service they quote an aggregated cost to provide 1 hour of work, with additional increases when their technician goes beyond the first hour. The homeowner thinks fair enough, cost of materials and time (labor). What they purposely do not provide is any details on what's in that first hour of cost unless you were to think to ask for an itemized information.

After service to our home (technician was good). You are provided an aggregate bill to pay with no itemization, again by design. I asked the tech how I could get an itemized bill and was told to call their office. I did call the next day and a few hours later was emailed an itemized bill with three entries, 1 Labor Hours $X, 2 Materials $X, 3 Trip Charge $45.

I called their office questioning what was included in the "Trip Charge" and how did it benefit me? The response was, that's the charge for "gas and materials" on the service truck. Think about it this way. The customers before me and after were all were billed for the same gas and material inventory on the same service truck (assumes truck did not stop for gas).

Take that charge and multiply it by the number of service trucks on the road that day and everyday. This is clearly deceptive billing. Add the fact they do NOT make the customer aware of this charge on the front end or when you receive their initial bill, post service completion. It's only revealed if you call and request an itemized bill. Magoo

They "fixed" my central air by actually breaking it. It drained from my attic onto my ceiling. 4 days before I close on my house. When I called, in additional to being INCREDIBLY rude, they want to charge me $500 to fix their own mistake. Seriously, call anyone else. If you want to speaking to a condescending b**** though, call on the weekend for their answering service.

Had to go to court this am to get the lien taken off my house due to vexatious litigation. Bad business. Refuses to accept certified mail to pay a bill. Do not do business with this company!

I wish I had read these reviews before hiring Dunklee to replace a zone valve on my heat pump. Spent a significant amount of money upfront to diagnose the problem, and a $200 deposit to order the needed replacement valve at which time the tech told me he did not know the part cost but could not order it without the deposit. After he came back and installed it, I learned the part was another $289 on top of the deposit amount.

The valve retails online for under $200. When I called to inquire about what seemed to be an excessive mark-up, the customer service representative was rude and blamed me for not asking the price prior to installation. While I wish I had done that, I was already $200 in from the deposit so really not many options there. I think this company is taking advantage of its customers with excessive price mark-ups and I will take my business elsewhere.

My Mitsubishi ductless heater stopped working. I called Ducklee and they came to the house and told me the remote was on the wrong setting (I had been playing with it to see if I could get it to work). It started throwing heat and he left after just 10-15 minutes and I paid him $165. He looked at nothing else. It stopped working again after just a a few days and I called them again - they insisted on charging me again which I argued was unreasonable since they problem had been misdiagnosed and the heater was still not working.

They refused to give a refund or come and look at it without charging me another $165! I would absolutely never recommend them; they do not stand behind their work. Very disappointing.

Way overpriced! Never use this company! Uses them to look over my hot water heater and they charged me 175 to tell me it was broken (about 5 min of work) then gave me a quote that was about 2grand higher than everyone else! This place is a scam!

I called Duncklee to resolve heating problems in my Westerly cottage. I explained I had a split system heating pump/AC unit on my second floor with a thermostat problem. They sent a very nice service person to my house but without a split system thermostat to replace the one not working. The service person drove to a local Home Depot but could not find a suitable replacement.

He said he needed to travel 1 hour to locate a suitable replacement and would bill me for his travel time. I declined and scheduled him to return the next day with the correct thermostat. That initial service call cost me $165.00 travel time. The following day he returned with a replacement thermostat and charged an additional $280.58. I think $445.00 was way to high for the service provided. I had asked for a discount but was denied. Buyers be ware of this firms billing policies.
