We love the custom Douglas Fir screen door for our new Texas Hill Country home. The quality and workmanship were excellent and the measurements were spot on.

We had such a wonderful experience, the entire process was incredibly professional and meticulous. We needed several phone calls, updated plans and Erica was terrific. We are over the moon with the completed project. It looks original to our house. Would highly recommend!

We recently purchased some screen doors as part of a beach cottage renovation. Given the coastal environment, we needed doors that would hold up. We were very pleased with the quality & craftsmanship & Erica was not only a pleasure to deal with but very patient in answering my many questions.

I needed an odd size french door for a wine cellar construction. As you would expect, the price for custom work was high, but absolutely worth it. I was doing the project myself, with no prior experience. Erica was extremely helpful and patient in helping me get the right design and the exact size needed. Solid mahogany. Furniture quality. Perfect fit. I think the pictures speak for themselves.

They advertise solid wood doors but will ship to you a glued composite door with no explanation or mention of it in their design drawings or contract. Nothing like paying 5k for a door made of glued boards to make the required thickness! What a scam. They are guilty of false advertising and review manipulation. Just check out their Yelp page!

One additional comment to add to this negative review. Vintage Doors is guilty of false advertising. They claim their doors are solid wood, however in the attached photograph of my door, you can clearly see it is laminated boards. Both of my doors that I ordered are the same as the photograph. I discovered this in the spring following the door installation that took place in the fall, and would like to confront them on this.

I wish I had read the reviews before working with this company. I bought a single screen porch door and it was extremely expensive. I wanted a really nice door so I figured 'you get what you pay for'. First, the door was on par with any other screen door you would find at Home Depot or Lowes. It was nothing special. Second, and the main reason I ordered through them, they were going to add a doggie door in the bottom.

I measured my current doggie door and it was 12w x 16h so that's what I requested. The door arrived in about 5 weeks(!) and the doggie door was not correct. The dowel used to create the swing was placed 3 inches below the top of the opening so at its largest point, the height of the opening was only 13 inches. My dog couldn't get through.

I contacted them and explained the problem but they didn't seem to care. I offered to have the door modified locally and submit the bill to them for reimbursement and they cut off communication. I spent $1300 on the stupid door which was average quality and then had to purchase a store bought doggie door and hire a carpenter to modify the opening and install the pet door.

That was another $285. And the door is nothing special. I wish I would have read these reviews. Do NOT buy from this company. Their products are grossly overpriced and they will NOT work with you if there is a problem or concern.

Look, the old saying goes."You get what you pay for". Sure, you're going to spend some money with Vintage Doors but the quality and materials used is well worth it. What a great American made product. The attention to detail is top notch. I bought an African Mahogany screen door for a 105 year old home. We did not want to ruin the character and quality of the home with a flimsy store bought screen door. I am so glad I found Vintage Doors!

Bought an entry door and screen door set a few years ago. My contractor described the wood as "furniture quality". It has held up to Buffalo area winters very well. Almost too nice to be a back door! Also bought door hardware. None better. Spring recently failed on screen door latch. Ryan sourced a replacement part for me no charge. So great quality and great service in my experience.

I have to say it's a class act there and worth every star. If you want quality and/or quantity, they will provide the best product you will ever see. Real hard wood of any choice you want, and it's a quality hardwood and softwood too. The people there are amazing and treated me with great respect.and with a smile. To me that's everything. Their prices are very fair and you get the real thing.real wood!

They are very accommodating as well. They were good to their word, and very caring and I would recommend them over anywhere. I was very surprised at what they can do so don't be afraid to ask them, or better yet stop in there and see some of their product on display.

I looked all over for a round top entry door with a matching round top wood storm door. When I found these guys I was not disappointed. The door fit perfectly and replace my original door to a T. From start to finish Ryan was a great help and the quality from Vintage Doors was outstanding. I highly recommend doing business with them if you want your job done right.

This company makes the most beautiful doors I have ever seen. My contractor said he hadn't seen a quality door like the two I got in 50 years. I have matching screen doors. Everything was perfect. The customer service is excellent. So many people stopped when they were driving or walking by to comment on how nice my doors are. You won't be disappointed.

I never write reviews, but I had an absolutely terrible experience with this company and if I could give them zero stars, I would. The original ordering experience was okay, but when I had a concern about my order and contacted the company to discuss it with them, Howard Demick, the CEO, responded to each of my polite and carefully-worded emails with snarky and passive-aggressive notes sent from his iPhone.

He wasn't content with just commenting on issues related to the product, but extended his rants to my person, character, and profession. I've never been treated with such disrespect. I would recommend getting your doors from a different company. UPDATE: I was wondering why, although this company has bad reviews on most online sites, they had glowing reviews on their FB page and on Houzz.

I looked at their FB reviews and realized that all their 5-star reviews were from employees! When I mentioned this on their FB page, they deleted the review feature from their FB page. I then looked at their reviews on Houzz and saw that they have 132 reviews, the vast majority of them 5-star. When I looked more closely, however, I saw that over 100 of those 5-star reviews were entered over the two-day period of November 30 - December 1st, 2015, and none of them were from users who had a verified purchase from VintageDoors. It seems the company is unethically manipulating the on-line reviews they can control.

I designed and was the GC on my own bathroom remodel in my 1905 Victorian house. I turned a big bathroom you walked thru to get between rooms into a loo closet and a shower room. I wanted door for each side that would slide barn door style. There was nothing in my market. Online I found Vintage Doors. They were very easy to work with and very responsive. Emails answered the same day.

Important information and details sent out promptly. I ordered paint grade maple louvered doors. I also ordered matching cabinet doors. The came expertly wrapped and in perfect condition. They painted up beautifully. These are quality doors and absolutely worth the price. When they were finished and hung I cried they were so beautiful! A few friends have been over to see the finished bathroom and each one noticed and admired the doors. I can't recommend this company enough! A++ -Laurin from Houston

Yesteryear Vintage Doors made Craftsman-style screen doors for me and suggested making them of mahogany for "exposed locations" and I chose their factory-primed option both options at extra cost. The doors looked fine and the dimensions were spot on and my customer loved them. I trimmed the doors to fit the opening and mortised the hinges and locks and immediately took them back to my shop where I primed any areas of bare wood that I had trimmed.

In addition, I rubbed siliconized acrylic caulk into the door bottoms before priming and top coating. The doors received two topcoats of 100% acrylic exterior paint and the door bottoms got four topcoats. I also caulked any horizontal surfaces or joints near the door bottoms. All of this done in controlled conditions inside my shop. After all this, I hung the doors and they looked great and my customer was thrilled.

Just one week later, I found that the mahogany had bled through the factory primer and spoiled my topcoat. The only places where my topcoat was not stained were the areas that I had primed with my own primer. On top of this, the lower portion of the doors began swelling and the glue joints between stiles and rails began to pull apart and the doors would no longer fit properly.

I have been building and hanging doors and gates for 35 years and have never seen a failure quite like this. I made detailed photographs, which I sent to the company along with a long and detailed e-mail explaining my priming and painting process and what I believed was a failure of the factory-applied primer. I got a reply from Ryan at the company and he said that it was my problem, because I had failed to paint the doors, so I called him.

He was extremely rude and insulting and kept telling me that I had not painted the doors. When I asked to speak with his superior, he put the owner, Howard on the line. Howard looked at my pictures and read my detailed explanation and insisted that it was my fault for not properly painting the doors and that his factory-applied primer was not at fault.

The attitude of these two men leads me to believe that they have had many other complaints about their products and they just wanted to run me off by being obtuse and rude. In order to protect my reputation, I must completely redo these doors by refitting them and sanding all surfaces and applying my own primer. Yesteryear Vintage Doors offered no help at all, so I will not be doing business with them again.

I recently bought an old 1890s 3,000 sq. ft. colonial home and absolutely love it. The one thing missing was an interior door to one of the bedrooms. After spending multiple trips and hours going through probably between 500-600 doors from a local Ace Hardware and Lowes, I was about to give up. That is when I discovered Vintage Doors. I contacted them online and explained my situation.

The whole process was seamless. Through a combination of taking photos and double checking measurements, they were able match perfectly the other interior doors to my home. The door was shipped to me and far exceeded my expectations. I would highly recommend Vintage Doors to a family member or friend. Their friendly and knowledgeable staff were able to make my new home even better and for that I say Thank You!

What a mistake to use this company. They had our mortise lock in hand and yet managed to drill a hole too small for the lock to fit. I called and Howard, the head of the company told me that it couldn't be possible that they made such a mistake. He went and talked to the guy who built it who informaed him that he never even tried to put the lock into the door. Brilliant. Howard then refused to find someone to fix the problem and refused to take the door back.

He offerred us $75 what we paid for the hols to be drilled originally. I had 4 master craftsmen and locksmiths come out and finally found someone who was willing to fix the problem by hand. All four said it was a major mistake and needed to be fixed by machine, yet Howard at Vintage doors said it should take 15 minutes with a chizzle. He was horribly rude as was a woman named roasmary who said that "these things rarely happen, but when they do, it's good they happen to people like me." Worst customer service ever. They make a nice door, but God help you should they make a mistake because you aren't getting any help from them.
