Convenience. A permanently installed home standby generator automatically turns on when power's out, protecting your home and everything you love inside it. Our business is protecting yours. Our standby generators keep your power on and you open during unforeseen power outages that could put your assets, data, and security at risk. Power interruption can be revenue interruption. Keep your business powered up no matter what. With a power grid as old and unreliable as New England's, the best defense against a power outage is to be prepared.
Services
Incorporated in 1990, Cannondale Generators was started by Paul Bonomo, a lifelong resident of Wilton, Connecticut. With experience in all areas of home construction and contracting, Mr. Bonomo realized when it came to home emergency backup power, homeowners had few options to turn to for professional generator installation let alone a generator maintenance program to help maintain their standby generator investment.
With a standby home generator, you can have it. You're in control, not the power company. You don't have to wait desperately for the latest power company outage update, because you will be watching tv, using the Internet, and staying as comfortable as if nothing happened. Over the last 30 years, we've installed over 8,200 home generators and now those families don't know the power went out unless they look out their window.
Whole house generator installation is not a DIY project. It all begins with a free home estimate appointment with your experienced Cannondale Generators technician. We'll help you choose the perfect size generator, the right fuel source, the best generator installation location, and even walk you through transfer switch integration.
Today's standby generators are so advanced they almost think for themselves. But, they still need regular maintenance. Some owners do opt to do it themselves while many choose one of our popular home generator maintenance service plans. With our prescribed, regimented maintenance for your generator, you will literally never notice your generator.

We purchased a generator from Cannondale last year and we were very pleased with everything about the whole process from the salesperson who first came to our home to give us an estimate to the final installation by the technicians and electrician. It did take longer than expected to receive the generator due to the pandemic but once it was in stock things progressed rapidly and smoothly.

Everything went according to schedule--the permit was approved by the city, the propane were tanks delivered and installed and once the generator was delivered, the electrician installed the new panel for the generator. Everyone showed up when they were supposed to and if I had any questions Steve Bonomo at Cannondale quickly responded to my emails. I would highly recommend Cannondale Generators.

I just love Cannondale! No matter when you call them, even with an impending storm coming, they are always responsive! We live in an area that loses power quite often, and I'm grateful we can rely on Cannondale to be there for us every time. If you are looking for a dependable generator company you can rely on, call Cannondale!

After waiting a month to get a salesman to visit my house to discuss generator installation, I have been unable to get him on the phone or to respond to an email to discuss the quote. His visit to our home was over a month ago, and we're now about two months from the time I called to ask them to quote the project. When I did receive the quote (after having to follow up twice including a call to their customer service line), the proposal didn't reflect the conversation we had, and since the salesman has failed to respond to a voicemail and then a follow-up email several days later, I can't get any clarification on the project.

Since I could not get any traction with Cannondale, I've received quotes from two other companies, and Cannondale is by far the most expensive. If they are this difficult to contact during a sales phase, it does not inspire confidence in a servicing relationship. I haven't lost money with these guys, but they did waste quite a bit of my time.

Our experience with Cannondale has been overwhelming positive. They worked the process of getting permits (including wetland) and installation effectively. When the Kohler generator was called upon to prove it's worth it functioned flawlessly. I would recommend them unreservedly.

When we bought our two years ago, the generator was inoperable and in rough shape. The folks at Cannondale got it working even though it took several diagnostic tests and steps to get to the root of the problem. They went the extra mile to make sure everything was in tip top order this past spring. When the recent storm hit, it was such a comfort to hear the generator switch on and hum along for six days. Many thanks for the excellent service!

One of the owners and installation project manager Mr. Stephen Bonomo is condescending and lack customer service and communication skills. Our 3 stars go to the office lady, the plumber and the electrician carrying out the excellent work and informing us on-going on our project, thank you so much for that. It is hard to reach anyone on the phone; there is often an answering service but no call back. We can not recommend using Cannondale for your project and will be signing on with someone else for the maintenance program.

Can't recommend Cannondale Generators enough! Lots of help during this last storm. They are always reliable. I have found both customer service over the phone and the in person technicians to be friendly, efficient, and honest. I've been using them for awhile and they are consistently on top of it.

I used Cannondale for 15 years until 2016. They USED TO BE the gold standard for generators around here. I don't know what happened, but after 2 calls and an email I can't even reach them to BUY a new generator. I can't imagine what would happen now if I needed a service call. I suspect this company has now hit rock bottom and I will be finding a competitor to take my business to. Shame on you, Cannondale.

8/31/2020 Give Cannondale a Zero. Newly installed May 2020 whole house Kohler generator failed to function properly during Tropical Storm Isais as soon as we lost power Tuesday afternoon. Their technician thought he fixed by adjusting propane fuel mixture Wednesday night. Generator failed the following morning. Propane and generator were installed at same time. Leahy, our propane supplier, was summoned by Cannondale to check the two regulators, which were fine. Leahy called Kohler tech support and the diagnosis: Cannondale never converted the generator to propane from natural gas.

A major screwup. Cannondale's President, Vice-President and Service Manager never returned my emails or phone calls. My new unit is under factory warranty and I wanted it checked out. Kohler Corporate sent another company's technician to go over The install. He rectified set up computer Programming which was incorrect and grounded two cut wires that were hanging bare. Cannondale answered the phones back in May to collect $ via credit card.

Now all day there is an answering service & calls not returned. Two other Cannondale clients nearby also get no return phone calls for needed care. Avoid this company like the plague. Dr. George Heinemann Redding, CT
