This company also owns Timberlake Cabinets - the provider of cabinets in my new home. I paid more than $8,000 for an upgrade to Duraform Lausanne cabinets. Of my 28 cabinet doors, 25 are blemished, one was touched up with paint (Duraform is a coating, not paint), one has a bulge in it and the sides of the cabinets near the cooktop are blistering. American Woodmark advertises a five-year warranty from the date the cabinets are installed.

I have an email from Timberlake that states I do NOT have a warranty. I have to go through the builder, who refuses to cure the problem, and the builder warranty is only for one year. After one year - NO WARRANTY! I even sent a letter to the VP of marketing at American Woodmark and she didn't even have the courtesy to reply to me. Stay away from this company - they DO NOT WARRANT THEIR PRODUCT as they advertise they do.

The Hamlet NC plant has several cases of Covid-19 and the plant is refusing to shut down. Employees are being told that if they leave they will be terminated for abandoning their job. I tried phoning the corporate headquarters in Winchester, VA and they refused to answer the phone. Obviously, their bottom line is more important to them than the health and welfare of their employees.

We ordered American Woodmark cabinetry for a house we were having built 15 years ago. It was the lowest priced option, so we assumed it wouldn't be as beautiful as the more expensive cabinets. Wrong! The cabinets were very lovely, well made, and visitors compliment us on them still to this day. Now some of the hinges are wearing, and one of the doors is beginning to warp (exposure to moisture from dishwasher, probably), so we thought we'd call and order replacements if they could match.

No problem! They pulled up our old order immediately, and arranged to send the hinges and door FREE of charge because they all have a lifetime warranty. What great customer service! Sadly, these days I'm more used to companies finding reasons not to honor their promises. If and when we decide to update our kitchen one day, I'll be heading straight to American Woodmark. What a bright light in a world that no longer values its customers!

I had to return two cabinets and a valence to Lowe's due to quality issues. I also should have returned the cabinet I did install, as one of the drawers does not close flush on one side. I still need to order one more base cabinet to match the cabinets already installed but dread the thought of dealing with another order that might need to be returned. I don't know if this problem exists solely with the cabinets ordered through Lowe's or an issue inherent in the company itself.

These cabinets are poor quality. I've had them two years and they're already starting to fall apart. They are very fragile and we are careful to treat them that way, but they're not going to last nearly as long as the ones they replaced.
