Services
Wasp and yellow jacket control are among our most in-demand summer services. As the Georgia summer gets hotter, stinging insect activity heats up -- and so do our phone lines. When most people think about stinging insects, the first species that comes to mind are honey bees. But actually, most of the stinging insects in Atlanta and North-Central Georgia are wasps or hornets, not bees.
Customer satisfaction is our goal, and we appreciate the fact that so many satisfied customers write to let us know they are happy. We pride ourselves on the quality of our work and the caliber of our people. We want our customers' experience with us to be pleasant and professional from the moment they first call us, until the job is completed -- and beyond.

Unfortunately, my family and I experienced possums breaking into our crawlspace during the Easter Sunday tornadoes of 2020. After being advised that exterminators could not properly rid of the possible rats, mice, or squirrels as well that frequented the attic and side bedroom wall, we sought out a reputable wild-life contractor to help. We settled on Rid-A-Critter. BIG MISTAKE.

The salesperson, Chris, came out and inspected the house, and gave a quote for over $1,600.00. He promised the house would be completely sealed and all points of entry would be covered. The two-man crew came out, and stated that the payment had to be made by check and that a fee would apply if a debit or credit was used. This information was NOT disclosed by the salesman prior to work being done.

Another red flag. After looking around the home's exterior, we saw how tacky, lazy, and cheap the work looked. They used a black sealant on the white foundation and half-way covered the vents. The work was absolutely horrible and they did not want to check the traps accordingly. Consequently, we started to hear loud and frequent sounds of "thudding" and scurrying in the wall and attic again.

No one has returned our calls since October 19, 2020 when the owner, Tim, promised that he and his team would come back out to thoroughly inspect the work. He was never heard from again, even though the work is still under warranty until August 2021. The salesman Chris was extremely rude and short when he was tracked down, stating "my people did their job." Most recently, we have had 5 crawlspace contractors survey the crawlspace for quotes for floor repairing.

All of them mentioned: they saw rat/mouse fecal matter, the space was not properly sealed up, rodents and other insects still had complete access to the crawlspace, there is insulation still hanging down from the previous animal damage, the work was mediocre and did not even prevent entry. It is so bad that the contractor we settled has suggested encapsulation due to the lack of actual work Rid-A-Critter allegedly did last year. I understand that people have to do what is best for them and see the good reviews, however, proceed with caution. My family and I deserved better, but we never got it.

I originally reached out to this company because I suddenly had a rodent issue. There was no urgency in taking care of the manner and no solution to the problem. I was told that they would be back to check the traps and this never happened. I also tried calling to have someone come back out and they scheduled a date but nobody showed up. Which led the one rat in the walls of my house to reproduce offspring.

I now have a bigger issue on my hands that could've been prevented if this company was more proactive with this specific situation. I'm highly disappointed in the service that was provided and wouldn't recommend this company to anybody else. In addition to that they did a horrible job patching up the basement to avoid more rats coming into the basement and finding their way up into the walls of the house. The traps never had any type of bait on them either.

This company is horrible, they'll rob you out your money and say that they fixed the problem. When really they are just fixing their hands to put money in their pocket. Been told multiple times that they would come and check out the traps but never did. Called them to come check the traps that they set said they would come and never did 0/10 recommendation.

We actually used this company 8 years ago to rid us of flying squirrels. Fast forward to today and we hear some creatures in the attic again. I found my old invoice and called not knowing if they would be around after all this time. I dialed the number and to my surprise they were! They were able to work around my schedule and got here to check out the situation quickly. Jake came out and went right to work.

He identified all the entry points, closed them up, and set up traps. He discussed his findings, showed me photos of our issues and said he would be out to remove anything caught in the traps and to check in. He was able to rid us of our pests. With our warranty, we can be secure in the knowledge of future assistance. Jake was courteous, professional, hard working and a pleasure to work with. This company is top notch, with a well established standing in the community. I would recommend them to anyone. Please consider them first.

I had a visit from "Chris" to get an estimate for removing contaminated attic insulation and replacing it. One thing that was odd is that he wanted to do everything by phone and not use email. When I did get his quote, it was vague and did not specify exactly where, what, and how much insulation they will use. I could not get a basic commitment to a certain depth of insulation. Got the feeling he wanted to commit to an exact dollar amount, but not tell me exactly what they were going to do, and especially not in an email.

I guess whatever is in writing they can be held accountable for. It is not worth the risk and headache to work with a company which may not do the job well and won't commit, in writing, to what they will do.

I love this company! They gave me the most reasonably quote to get rid of my squirrels in attic and snake in crawl space. The guy, Matt, was here a whole day blocking off every possible entrance. This was last year. I called twice to have house checked again in attic and they came right out and put up traps but I don't have any more squirrels.

I also called today to ask them to check crawl space for snakes. They crawled from one end to the other of crawl space checking and no snakes still. They are thorough and fabulous to desk with!

Very poor service. Realtors never refer this company and home owners, stay far away. Very unprofessional and rude.

Ridacritter and Chris are awesome. I just bought a house and at the closing table the seller told me there had been extensive rat damage. pleasant right? Well a rat happened to get back inside and Ridacritter came back out for free as a part of their 1 year transferable warranty. The service I received was also excellent! Well done guys!

Great service, as Justin came to my house within 2 hours of me first contacting the Rid-A-Critter call center. I noticed a terrible odor coming from the vent in my 1st floor bathroom, 10 days after I seal an outside exhaust vent with a metal cage. Justin quickly determined the source of the odor by looking in the outside exhaust vent and then by removing the exhaust fan in the bathroom. He found a dead flying squirrel near the exhaust fan and removed the carcass. Justin did a great job and was very knowledgeable. Problem solved!

After spending nearly $1,700 for them to remove flying squirrels from the ceiling of my Blue Ridge cabin I'm still with critters and very frustrated. First visit they supposedly set live traps and sealed all other holes. They then came back and took the live squirrels from the traps and [supposedly] sealed all entrances. Next time I was at my cabin, I heard MUCH more commotion in the ceiling above my bedroom.

They came out again and this time put something to drive them out but sealed up all the holes so what did I see that evening on my inside cameras? Flying squirrels running all around inside my cabin! They came out again and set [kill] traps inside my house. I had my handyman come check things out the next week and there were 5 dead flying squirrels in my closed up cabin.

I can't imagine what it smelled like but my handyman is pretty "macho" and he said it almost made him sick. He got them out of the house and left it open for a while then totally cleaned from top to bottom. Rid-a-Critter guy came out TWO WEEKS LATER to retrieve the traps (though he left them sitting out on the deck). I can't even imagine what my cabin would have smelled like if I hadn't had my handyman take the dead squirrels out! This all started in March. Here it is the middle of June and I'm up for the weekend. Guess what I hear in the ceiling? Waste of money and I'm finding someone new!

My rental turned stinky after my non-paying-cheating-tenant absconded! I had Rid-a-Critter on site after 2 weeks of stinky fare. Carl, young, good looking and polite, came out and removed 2 dead mice and the smell went away the next day. What more can I ask for?! Now, I can search for and rent to an honest tenant who loves a fresh smelling abode! Yah!

This company will get your job and they will be with you until its done to your satisfaction. this is the second company i had in to get flying squirrels out of our attic after the first company couldn't get anything done in almost one month. with in 48 hours, rid a critter pulled almost a dozen out of our attic. it did take a while since these rodents are persistent but over the course of 3-4 weeks, they pulled a total of 17 flying squirrels out of our attic. our service technician was justin and he couldn't have been more of a pleasure to deal with. he was over here multiple times per week checking traps, inspecting holes that were repaired and looking for new points of entry and exit. it was surprising to read a couple of negative reviews. remember - a premium service is worth the premium price. do it right the first time, it will save money in the long run. i can't believe some reviews that said they show up late or had scheduling difficulties. justin literally called me mid day the day before the job was supposed to start to see if he could get a jump start on exterior work the afternoon before scheduled. get it done right with professionals who are great to work with - hire rid a critter

Nothing but good things for the Birmingham branch. Another company said I had rats & squirrels in my attic. Me panicking agreed to go with their service. After they failed to do the service on the scheduled day, I did some research and found Rid A Critter. Sent an email thru the website for information and consult that night. Got an email that am and a call from a technician.

After texting the tech in an early morning meeting, he made room to view my attic that day. I'm glad I did because he said I actually had bats! Good service and the guy who does the work is friendly and prompt. Very knowledgable. Smooth process so far. Bats are gone now I have to remove & install insulation bc of the mess my attic occupants made. And they actually priced me the same as the other company and they are doing more.

Not a good experience. We had traps set for a flying squirrels in our attic. When the technician was 45mins late to check the traps we were told it would be two weeks before they would come to check them again (and leave a dead/dying animal rotting in our attic). After a call the the supervisor we were rescheduled for a day late and if we could not coordinate then then it would be two weeks. This was after we spent $3K in roof repairs to them.

They did come out and complete the work after I posted a review on Kudzu and the company's Facebook page that got their attention. In my opinion their Kudzu rating is bogus; they are stocking the pond with fake reviews. again just my opinion. Still, look at the "reviewers" that write on their Kudzu listing, they all create their profiles the same day they post and never post anywhere else. Fishy.

The office manager was extremely rude and condescending to me on the business' facebook page; she blamed me for the company's lack of follow up. Goes to show how they value their customers. I would NOT do business with this company again.

The people I spoke to by phone in the Macon office were very nice and their web site had great testimonials so I felt good about having them come to my house. Upon arrival I was told it was bats and it would cost $1,200 to fix based on the square footage of my house. The next day I called a different company. The came same day, told me it was not in fact bats, fixed the problem and saved me $700.

I hate to write negative reviews but to misinform me and then over charge me is not acceptable. One good thing that came of it was that the company that DID get the job were awesome and it was a joy to meet them!

Had them come out for a quote to remove bats. They were a LOT more expensive and offered no guarantees on their basic service. Did NOT offer clean up and tried to convince me that cleaning up after bats was not important for health. Look around and I promise u will find better service at a better price!

I set up an appointment but they cancelled because they were worried about upsetting my neighbor that feeds them. Never mind the thousands of dollars of damage they cause.

My company hired this company to relocate some pesky squirrels. We noticed one of the traps had a squirrel in it and Adcock's was notified Friday around 2:00. It is Monday at noon and they just came to remove the DEAD squirrel. On their FAQ site, it claims they are required to pick up animals on the weekend which they clearly did not do. Do not use this company if you want to ensure the critters are humanely treated!

Over a year ago the rats showed themselves. We called Arrow and they came out and charged us quite a bit of money to seal the house and set traps. Each week they came to clean and re-set the traps, but the critters were not getting in the traps. Once the weather warmed up all signs of the rats seemed to have disappeared. As the fall approached the critters came back. Arrow came back and found many, many openings that they missed the first go around.

The problem still was not solved and we were told that we had a "problem house." I called Rid-a-Critter who came out and found even more missed openings in the house as well some bushes close to our house the had been serving as a nice habitat. The one thing I can say about Shane is he is as persistent as the critters. For Shane this is an all out war that he is determined to win.

When you want/need some determined critters out of your house, I would recommend seeking a service that is as determined as the critters to fight the battle, and if you are in this area - I definitely recommend Shane at rid-a-critter.
